Mercy on the imperfect Customer
When graphic designers are carried away by their ideas of beauty, at least some of the users of their products are being thrown under the buss and into despair. The “modern” preference for light and wash-out greyish colours on websites and in applications do not show any knowledge of or consideration for the ageing population, or just anyone with imperfect eye sight. Worse comes to bad when there is not even an option inside the preference folders to customise basic layouts. Apple’s faint grey, for example, used all over the place, is a nightmare for anyone without 100% vision. Please have mercy and give us back the option to customise what you consider the aesthetic pinnacles of modern digital layout. Not everybody likes the same stuff and not everybody benefits from it and not everybody can get used to it.
