Jacob Collier: How to “think” music.

We will never “see” Mozart in action as a young genius. However, watching Jacob Collier and listening not only to his music but how he talks about it might be the closest we can get to having some idea. You might not be able to understand everything he says or follow all the musical terminology and implications he uses, but you might get an incredible insight into “musical thinking” and “musical acting”. Like painters “think” in colors, or writers in words, musicians “think” in intervals, harmonies, tension, resolution etc. In any case, Jacob Collier will give you the perhaps best insight into musical “thinking” anyone has ever done before. There are 3 parts to this interview and if this is too much for you, just start with part 2 at 22:00 and learn more about music than you thought would be possible for you.
