Yeats and Sligo

Some poets are “alive” in particular ways and the way they are remembered is often fascinating and unexpected. You might want to visit, one day, Yeats in Sligo but you might also be happy with “Yeats” in “Sligo” as the film depicts it. I have been to Sligo. Not much to be seen and much more than meets the eye at first glance.

Just make yourself a cup of tea and then watch this video

Thanks for posting that. Reminded me of our time together, between Achille Island where Heinrich Böll wrote his Irish Diary and Sligo where Yeats is buried and his portrait decorates as graffiti many walls.

Yes, and I bought the best Irish caps. There was not much of interest in this town and at the same time everything we needed. Fascinating experience. And of course, Yeats looking at us from so many places.
